It Was An Exciting Day!

Thank you everyone for coming out on Saturday!

It was an exciting day with so many beautiful and interesting crafts to be found.

The vendors were real troopers for battling the morning rain and the extreme gusts of wind!!

In the end it was all worth it with many vendors reporting great sales and of course the shoppers proud to show off their new treasures.

The Kids at PS 154 are also happy for all the generous donations and funds raised to keep the arts and enrichment programs going.

Here are just a few images from the day.

Hope to see everyone again next year.

Be sure to visit the Vendor List for links to your favorite vendor's online shops.

Artist Highlight - Leah Creation

Leah Creation

Leah Creation’s latest line is inspired from vintage vinyl records; strategically hand pierced, the album artwork, the artist and songs all play a part in her designs. In this current economic situation Leah wanted to make affordable jewelry for all to enjoy. This collection is nostalgic, green and there are pieces for all to find a connection. To help protect the album artwork from the elements, they are finished using a clear coat of U-V and moisture protection. Included in the vintage vinyl collection are earrings, necklaces, pendents, tie clips and money clips; yet new ideas are happening every day.

Rebecca Stockdill
Regina Hamilton

Regina Hamilton and Rebecca Stockdill are a mother/daughter team from New England specializing in fiber arts. Although we usually sell our items separately, we constantly collaborate on design ideas and share techniques and materials. This will be our second craft fair in which we will be participating as a team.

Regina's key pieces include a line of original, poseable ballerina dolls, which were inspired by her granddaughter. Rebecca's key pieces include unique jewelry that combines traditional crochet with wire-wrap techniques. Additionally, we will both be showing one-of-a-kind felted handbags.

Rebecca lived in Brooklyn for 9 years before moving to Rhode Island with her husband and 2 young children and is very excited to be back in Brooklyn for the 2010 Prospect Park Craft Fair. Makers of Custom Handmade Bath & Body Products~

We hope you enjoy our products as much as we enjoy making them for you.
Each product is made with care and ingredients you would expect and find in more “posh” products.

Way back in the “Olden days" (1989), we started soap and candle making as a craft hobby. We gave them as gifts to friends and family and they loved them. Well some years later our daughter was born and had the most sensitive skin EVER. So we went back to our hobby and created soap that was gentle enough for her skin. This "Re-stirred" in us the passion for the craft yet again and we started making our products again in 2000. This lead to fairs, craft shows, and even sidewalk vending of our creations, where we showcased new and improved versions of our favorite skin care and home products. Today we still do the street vendor "thing" as well as craft fairs from New York To Pennsylvania and are greeted warmly by our " family “of customers that can't wait till we get there. We were told it was time to share our products with the world and so here we are. Thastolia is just a name, but we are real people, just like you that want quality, freshness and a product that has a little of our individuality in each scoop, squirt, dab or aromatic whiff! Thank you again for all of your support and feel free to contact us with any questions you may have about anything you see on our site. As always, thank you...

Charlie and Sarah are a husband and wife team. Charlie is from Brighton, England. Sarah is from Lake Waconia in Minnesota. They live in New York City and are raising their son.

Sarah, an art teacher, created a Nappy onesie to surprise Charlie. It started out as a joke to teach their half English baby proper British. Once, they left the house, they had dozens of requests to create more British Flashcard items. The couple offers baby, kids and adult sizes, so you can dress and teach the entire family.

"Now, that our son is learning to speak, it is so fun hearing him say British words. Soon, he will be fluent in both languages", said Sarah.

For even more fun stuff from the crafting duo, check out Chestnut Farmer, Charlie's NEW toy line.

Meanwhile, stay tuned for more British Flashcards, American Prep Appliques and clothing from Charlie and Sarah.
